Mission Market in the media for new anti-Penny policy
Mission Market’s decision to no longer use pennies in its two stores starting January 1, 2016 received a lot of attention from the media. We can’t be the first California retailer to use the rounding method. But we might be the first to be explicit about the new policy and the many reasons why we chose to institute it. We suspect it struck a chord throughout the media because there is a universal experience of struggling with the uselessness of this currency, yet few have imagined a world without it. We are showing that it’s possible, and we hope you agree it’s also preferable.
